ISSA needs to elect a President and a VP of Finance for the 2010-2011 academic year. Stop by the ISSA office [SBA 392] tomorrow at 4:30 to submit a ballot. Write-in nominations are welcome.

Below are the descriptions of the position of President & VP of Finance, per the ISSA constitution:

President:
The President shall oversee the entire organization.
Duties include:
· Acting as the executive head of the organization.
· Presiding over all meetings and acting as head liaison with SBA faculty, administration, and the business community.
· Working with each committee and helping out as needed.
· Communicating all ideas presented to all officers.
· Upholding the standards and ethics of the organization and its members.
· Promoting the growth of the organization and maintaining its activities.

Vice President of Finance:
The Vice President of Finance shall have charge of all financial assets and funds of the organization, shall attend to the collection of initiation fees, fines, and dues, and shall pay all bills and report at each session thereof.
Duties include:
· Keeping complete records of all financial transactions.
· Paying the organization's expenses and fees incurred.
· Reimbursing members for expenses.

On Tuesday the 23rd the ISSA will be holding a general meeting in SBA 390 at 4pm. We will be discussing some very important recent developments that are relevant to the future of PSU's Information Systems degree program. We strongly encourage current and hopeful IS students to attend. Mark your calendars!

We will also discuss upcoming ISSA events and conferences, and hope to collect some information from you about what you'd like from the ISSA, what meeting-times work best for you, and anything else you care to share.

We are also still looking for officers! If you are interested in becoming a part of ISSA leadership, shoot issa@pdx.edu an email or talk to the current officers after the meeting.

If you are a graduating senior or recent alum and looking for a job, please plan to come to Career Information Day. Plan to dress neatly (business casual would be ideal, although recruiters know that you're taking classes and don't expect interview attire) and bring several copies of your resume.

We're going to have elections for President and VP of Marketing. If you are at all interested in either of those positions please contact us. This will be Thursday January 21th. This is a great opportunity to get experience in leadership and to get more involved with PSU and other IS majors. If you're not sure, just come to the meeting, and if you feel like it, nominate yourself! Welcome to everyone and free pizza may be included.

The Society for Information Management is having a student night allowing a limited number of students from several schools to come and network with executives, CIOs and IT professionals. This is a great opportunity and we want to get as many IS students from PSU there as we can! The dinner will be delicious and there will be a speaker. It's at 5:30pm on Wednesday January 13th with the location TBA. There will also be day tours of the IT facilities of Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, Laika (an animation studio), and CISCO.
