Each year, the Society of Information Management (SIM) host an exciting day filled with events for IS students from PSU, OSU and OIT campuses.
What is Society of Information Managements (SIM)?
"The SIM Portland chapter is an organization of senior level information technology leaders who want to remain abreast of industry trends. It provides a venue to network with peers who are leaders in other information technology organizations in Oregon and Southwest Washington."
The scheduled events are as follows:
This year, all events will take place on Wednesday, January 16th, 2008.
Nike Tour/Presentation (9:45 am to 12:45 pm) – a tour of the Nike’s data center, a presentation about Nike’s supply chain technology, lunch, a presentation on Nike’s product creation IT, and a tour of the Nike campus. (Dress code: Business Casual)
Intel Tour/Presentation (1:00 pm to 4:00 pm) – an informal discussion with IT executives about their careers paths and work experiences, an overview presentation of the Intel IT organization, and a tour of Intel’s new high performance data center. (Dress code: Business Casual)
SIM Dinner @ Embassy Suites (4th & Pine) (5:30 pm to 8:15 pm) – “Meet and greet,” dinner, and a presentation on “Attracting, Developing & Retaining IT Professionals.” (Dress Code: Business Professional)
Who can attend?
All IS, ISM and CS students are invited. However, space is limited to 20 students/faculty. Priority will be given first to seniors on a first to respond basis, and then to juniors on a first to respond basis.
